57% Think ADHD is Just an Excuse ……

You can bet your bottom dollar that very few of that 57% will have children with very poor attention, poor behaviour, etc.
Anybody who has had a child that does struggles with concentration will understand that it isn't a choice they are making, just like they do not choose to be disorganised and they don't choose to have poor short term memory. The physiological differences between these children and children that do not suffer from such symptoms are easy to measure.

So, if you're one of the 57% who thinks ADHD is just an excuse please look at the research on the development of the cerebellum, you will become far more understanding and tolerant with those who have been labeled with ADHD.

I can honestly say I had no idea what ADHD entailed until my son came along and I started investigating causes for his lack of concentration/fogginess. I thought it was unruly children, I didn't understand that the it was a neurological problem at all, I thought it was some sort of learned behaviour
Boy, was I in for an eye-opener.

Richard and Judy note Media note
Mr Dore Note

We attended an assessment centre last week, based on so called evidence from the media. Having been forced to pay up the £500.00 plus (£120.00 per hour) before we knew we were getting value for money our child of 8 embarked on a series of 4 or 5 tests lasting about 15 to 30 minutes in a converted barn where the test areas were seperated by strategically hung blue sheets (not providing any privacy whatsoever)Our lad was then asked a series of questions (questions we had already answered on a form and which we were asked a third time later on)
But he and we we given leading and closed questions, thus the answers were provide by the assessor. We raised this as an issue at the time and were told to contact Mr Dore (what a response) no admission that they could possibly learn something here

at the end the results showed that our lad had a balance problem and he has been diagnosed officially with ADHD

This lad who rode a two wheeler bike at the age of two without stabalizers (he just got on his bike and rode) this lad who can water ski, jet ski, scuba dive and wind surf and has an ability to balance far beyond his years, has a balance problem????

We asked pertinant questions in relation to comparisons between those children who were not deemed dyslexic ADHD etc, and we were told they couldn't give us that type of information.

I believe that if the dore programme is so sure of itself then the assessments should be free and then families decide whether it would be good to proceed. I believe we did not get value for money, we paid for a substandard product with no means of getting our money back. We feel conned. we are also in business, all my customers know what they are getting before paying for it, and indeed only pay after they have received and used the product. That is because we are so sure of the value for money factor implicit in our product.
Mr Dore we are extremely dissapointed.

We feel conned and manipulated.
